2026 CHAMPIONSHIP LAUNCH AT CASTLE COMBE

National Historic Speed Club

One of our members, Ed McDonough, is a member of the Guild of Motoring Writers. Ed arranged for six of us to attend that organisation's track day at Castle Combe to launch this year's championship to motoring journalists. Professional motorsport photographers, Jeff Bloxham and Mike Stokes, were also in attendance and generously snapped away at our on track efforts. A selection can be seen in the Gallery section of the website.

.

Joining us for the day was one of our honorary members, Christopher Tate, Board Member and Chairman of Council at Motorsport UK. Christopher (centre of photo above, wearing flat cap) is a big supporter of historic motorsport and his presence was much appreciated. He even agreed to take to the track as a passenger with Adele Hunt at the wheel!

.

The day was a great opportunity for us to raise the profile of the club and we were all lucky enough to then take tea at Nick Mason's house. Nick is President of the GOMW and was very interested in what NHSC offers our area of motorsport."

RENEWALS AND REGISTRATIONS FOR 2026 NOW OPEN!

"MSUK has now approved the Regulations for our 2026 Speed Championship and also issued the relevant Permit. A "Published Copy" of the approved Regulations is now on the Regs and Q and A page of this website.

.

There is now no excuse for delaying entering this year's championship, as set out below

.

In preparation for what we are sure is going to be another exciting season of motorsport, we are pleased to announce that our systems are updated and ready to receive your membership applications/renewals and registrations for the 2026 NHSC Speed Championship.

"To enter the Championship you will need to complete both the Membership and the Championship Registration forms on the Championship page."

Please note that we have a new bank account in the name of NHSC. Details of the new account for payments are at the bottom of the new forms.

New for 2026 is a "Joker" round to be nominated in respect of one round from Round 9 onwards. This is to encourage competitors to participate in at least one round in the second half of the season. There is also a new Modified class that does not require the components used in modifying the car to have been available prior to 1977.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at
