1966 VOLVO AMAZON 122S
Specification
Engine: 2098cc B20 Volvo engine built by Flok Boer with twin 1 ˝ SU carburettors giving a power output of 160 bhp and 160 lbft of torque
Gearbox: standard Volvo M41 4 speed gearbox with uprated J-Type overdrive on top gear. Rear axel has a Gripper competition limited slip differential and uprated half shafts.
Wheels: 5 ˝ x 15 inch Minilite alloy wheels with List 1b tyres
Bodywork: all steel with stainless steel bumpers, restored and resprayed by Creed & Shore Motorworks (Whitchurch) in 2018.
Other: Specification includes fitment of rear seats (even though the roll cage makes using them impossible!) and key pieces of interior trim allowing entry into period road-going saloon classes in most hill climbs and sprints, plus historic rallies (HRCR and HERO events)

First registered: April 1966 in Bolton
Bought by me in 2000 and campaigned in rallies, hill climbs and sprints since then.
Competition History
Originally converted to a rally car for the 1998 Classic Monte Carlo Rally and used as the focal point of a professional film of the event called ‘Not the full Monte’ (dynamo problems resulted in a non-classified finish)
Never failed to finish a rally since!
Won the 2001 HRCR Road Rally Championship for ‘Beginner Driver’
