Biography

From a young age I have been very interested in motorsport. However, other than many track days over the years, it was not until retirement beckoned that I was in a position to enjoy competing. I started doing hill climbs and sprints in my 1967 Mini Cooper S in 2018, initially competing in the HRCR Speed Championship. I realised I enjoyed the sport so much that I needed to do more of it and that led to my buying my Elan, which is a full Appendix K car built for race series such as the HSCC Guards Trophy.

The car won the BOC FASSI Classic Hillclimb championship in 2022 (I just twiddled the steering wheel occasionally) and Class 3B of the MSC in 2023.

I am founder and chairman of the National Historic Speed Club Championship for pre ‘77 cars.
